Abstract: This capstone applied project explores the feasibility of integrating contract management software tools, specifically Unison’s reverse auctioning and Noblis’ source selection evaluation software, into the Naval Postgraduate School’s Contract Management courses (MN3303 and MN3315). The study addresses the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in preparing future Navy contracting officers. Utilizing qualitative methods, including faculty interviews and surveys, the research evaluates how these tools can enhance educational outcomes by aligning classroom learning with real-world contract management processes. The findings indicate that integrating these software tools could significantly improve students’ readiness by providing hands-on experience with critical contracting tasks. Based on these insights, the study recommends a strategic enhancement of the curriculum to include these tools, ultimately aiming to better prepare officers for the complexities of defense contract management.
